CLAIRE PETIT
We entered the tiny town of Flavion
Francine (10), Claire, Rene (6) taken in 1945
Claire
Gustave Petite
When I visited in 1971, Gustave had died, and Claire had moved away. The stable had been converted into a garage, with a new door.
We headed from Claire's to Chateau Closon, which is visible at the top of the hill, on the right.
CHATEAU CLOSON
The chateau was an imposing building of about 30 rooms. Jim and I were overwhelmed at the thought we were going to stay in such an estate!
Jeanne and her daughter, Odette, who was twelve.
Even the height of the doors were imposing!

This is where Jim, Taffy and myself slept.
